1. ‘Care through Prayer’ Please use this new leaflet as a guide for your prayers. The long-term sick and infirm will continue to be named in ‘Care through Prayer’ so that we can pray for them. Some of these people may no longer appear in this weekly noticesheet or have their names read out during intercessions. No changes will be made without discussion with those involved.

2. Michael Grandey, our new curate, is to be ordained deacon on Sunday 5th July in York Minster. There are 16 tickets available for people from St Mary’s and St Nicholas. If you would like to go please speak to Bev or Nigel as soon as possible.

3. There are two vacancies for next year’s pilgrimage to Oberammergau. This is an 8 night excursion starting on 31st August. If anyone is interested please contact Rev’d Ron Smith as soon as possible.

4. On Thursday 9th July at 8.00 pm the Aroma Coffee Shop is hosting ‘An Evening with Jeremy Piercy’. Jeremy is the director of Shared Earth and a leading Fair-Trade Movement campaigner. Tickets are £2.50 (to include light refreshments) and can be obtained from Rev’d Cameron Stirk (Tel: 768326) or from Aroma. There are only 48 tickets so get yours now to avoid disappointment.

5. There will be a labyrinth (and refreshments) on Sunday 19th July from 1.00 pm until 5.00 pm at
17 Corner Close, Wigginton, home of Fiona and Ian Evans. More details of what a labyrinth is and how it works will appear in July’s edition of “Talkabout”.
Some Joseph Rowntree pupils are going to Kenya in July 2010 with Camps International and as part of their fund raising for this will be providing tea, coffee and cakes, as well as a raffle. Please support them.

6. Also in support of Joseph Rowntree’s Kenya expedition there will be a Summer Family Barbeque at St Nicholas Church on Saturday 5th September from 6.00 pm onwards. (Note change of date from last week’s notice). Tickets will be £3 per person or £10 per family. Contact Ruth Evans for tickets. 7. On Monday 6th July 7.45 – 9.45 pm Aroma Coffee shop will be hosting a free ‘Transition Workshop’ for any parent whose child is starting at secondary school in September. For further information contact Lucy Stirk on 768326.
