Autumn Fair - 2006

Our Autumn Fair 2006 was a great success (see the pictures). Money was raised for two causes - one local, one international.

Rev Martyn Green of St Mary’s Church, Haxby presents a cheque for £1,400 to Eddie Benson M.B.E., Chair of the Trustees for Haxby & Wigginton Youth and Community Association. The money was raised at the church’s Autumn Fair, and included matched funding from Barclays Bank. Church wardens Nicola Simpson and Beverley Crapper, who co-ordinated the fundraising event, also attended the presentation. The donation will be used to provide resources and equipment to support the new programme of activities being provided for young people in the area.

The other half of the funds raised went to the Mission Aviation Fellowship (UK website) - an international charity providing emergency air flights to and from disaster zones, provided medical emergency flights and supporting the work of missionaries working in Christ's name around the world
